Year 6

18th March 2023

Year 6 have had quite an eventful term so far. Firstly, there was a parents maths workshop earlier this term where parents had the opportunity to attend a maths lesson and see how their children were doing in problem solving. The class later had a whole week of secondary taster; spending two hours daily in the secondary section of the school. It gave them a real taste of how life will be later this year when they officially join secondary school. Last week the class had a trip to Nafasi Art Space to support their history, science and art lessons. The week concluded with a splendid class assembly on Friday where children shared their knowledge of World War 2.

This term the maths lessons focussed on algebra, decimals, fractions percentages, area, perimeter and volume. In English we are looking at journalistic writing as well as narratives. In science we are learning about light.
