Overview

Activities

All students from Year 1 up, are encouraged to take part in at least one extra-curricular activity per week during each term. Our wide range of clubs provides academic, physical and artistic opportunities in addition to the curriculum. The extra-curricular programme supports the development of the individual, their access to the current curriculum and their future prospects for study and work. There is an emphasis on clubs that are recognised world-wide such as the Model United Nations and LAMDA.

Facilities

Our well-resourced classrooms are stimulating and designed to ensure your child receives the best education possible. The extensive facilities in the school compound provide academic, physical and artistic opportunities.

Beyond the classroom

At Braeburn Dar we aim to ensure that we maximise opportunities for children beyond the classroom. We believe that, as well as enhancing their childhood experiences, this helps them to develop into well-rounded individuals with a wide range of skills that may be of use in their futures. Our students also go on annual residential school trips to various locations in East Africa.

Our community

Braeburn Dar has a strong community ethos, where we actively encourage our parents and guardians to become part of the Braeburn family, forging friendships that will last across the miles and years.

We  have a successful ‘Friends at Braeburn’ (FAB) parent and teacher committee who meet regularly to work on family and community events.

Home-School Partnership

Parents are important people at Braeburn Dar es Salaam International School and therefore the school will always actively encourage the establishment of a positive relationship with its parent community. This relationship is based upon the principles of mutual respect and trust, supported by a commitment to highly effective communication between home and the school. We recognise the importance and value of the timely sharing of information and therefore have established various methods by which this can be successfully achieved, for example. our home-school diaries, newsletters and parents evenings.  By actively promoting free and open communication we believe we can fulfill our commitment to ensuring the best possible education for each and every Braeburn student.

Transport

Children at Braeburn can take advantage of our fleet of yellow school buses allowing most of Dar es Salaam to be covered by a convenient route to school. We also offer a late bus service to enable more children to participate in after school activities.

Uniform

All Braeburn Dar students are required to wear our uniform.
