About Us

Opened in 2015, Braeburn Dar es Salaam is part of the established Braeburn Group of International Schools, drawing on more than 45 years of educational excellence across East Africa. We offer a world-class British education where every child is individually known, supported, and valued.

We believe true education extends far beyond examinations. We take a balanced, holistic approach that places equal value on academics, sports, the creative arts, outdoor adventure, and community service. With low student-teacher ratios and tailored support, our international educators ensure every child is challenged to reach their highest potential while discovering their unique passions.

Our goal is simple: to nurture students who are confident yet respectful, independent yet collaborative, and above all—happy, curious, and motivated to learn. Curricula

Early Years

From age 2, children follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) — learning through purposeful, carefully planned play that builds communication, physical, social, and emotional skills alongside early literacy and numeracy. Guided by specialist educators in a safe, stimulating environment, every child is given the space to grow in confidence at their own pace.

Primary

Ages 5 to 11 build a strong foundation in English, Mathematics, and Science, alongside Drama, Music, Art, and Sport. We’re proudly non-selective — welcoming children across the full range of ability and prior experience, including those learning in English as an additional language — with regular assessment (including GL and NGRT testing) used to set ambitious, individual targets for every child.

Secondary

Students aged 11 to 16 build the knowledge and independence to think critically and solve complex problems, progressing from Key Stage 3 to internationally recognised Cambridge IGCSE qualifications — opening doors to universities and opportunities worldwide.

Sixth Form

Shaping Future Leaders and Global Citizens

Designed for students with ambitious goals, our Sixth Form combines the rigour of A-Levels with the practical, career-focused BTEC — including individually blended pathways to suit each student’s strengths. With expert teaching, personalised university guidance, and a track record of Braeburn Group students securing places at universities worldwide, students graduate ready to thrive wherever they choose to go next.
