Year 5

24th June 2023

It has been very busy in Year 5 for the past few weeks.

The highlight of the English learning was the presentation of students’ project based on Ancient Africa theme. The students were assigned to write a poem, a fiction and a non-fiction text. The presentation was very successful and the students showed good knowledge of the topics they were presenting.

In Science, our topic is about the stages of a human life cycle. The children were learning about the growth of babies by presenting and analysing scientific data on the line and bar graphs.

In Mathematics, we have been learning to understand, order and compare negative numbers. The children were also looking at how to apply their knowledge in real life, such as reading the temperature above and below zero.

And last but not least, what a wonderful, talented group of swimmers we have in Year 5! They represented Braeburn Dar-es-Salaam International School in various swimming galas during the last month and won so many medals! Congratulations to all Year 5 swimmers!
