Year 5

18th May 2024

Year 5 students had an unforgettable week learning about Japanese culture and traditions! The week was filled with fun and educational activities that brought the spirit of Japan right into their classroom. The students became little chefs as they cooked Hokkaido Potato Mochi, a traditional Japanese snack. They measured ingredients and followed recipes, blending their cooking and mathematics skills to create this delicious treat. Mathematics lessons took a playful turn with Sudoku puzzles! The students challenged themselves with this popular Japanese game, enhancing their problem-solving skills while having loads of fun. Our young artists explored the beauty of Japanese calligraphy, practising writing simple yet powerful words like "peace" and "love" in Japanese, creating beautiful pieces that reflect the elegance of this ancient art form. Keep up the great work, Year 5 students!
