Year 5 Trip to Africraft
This week, Year 5 visited Africraft - a WFTO certified fair trade organisation and trading partner for handmade upcycling products from Africa. The students learnt all about how Africraft are empowering poorer communities through waste collection and recycling. They saw first hand the production line from collecting rubbish on the beach to using banana peels and pineapples to make paper. Th students viewed their diverse range of products and met the producers who design and manufacture them as well as participate in three unique workshops making newspaper pencils, a card and an envelope and Nespresso earrings. The students behaviour was absolutely exemplary as they represented themselves and Braeburn with pride.
