Year 5 Japan Day

In Geography this term, Year 5 students have been learning about Japan.

Japan Day was a great opportunity for the children to find out more about Japanese culture.

The children learnt to write a wish for good health using Japanese calligraphy, they explored Hokusai art and created their own Anime characters. Everyone’s favourite activity was making and eating vegetarian sushi rolls. The children chopped avocados, cucumbers and carrots, then they spread sticky rice on a sheet of seaweed, added chopped vegetables and made rolls. Seasoned with soy sauce- it tasted delicious!
