Year 4 Clay Workshop

25th March 2023

Last week, Year 4 enjoyed a trip to the clay workshop in Kunduchi as part of their studies on changes in states of matter. The children were given a tour of the workshop, seeing the huge kilns and the minerals that are found in clay, some of which need to be removed. They then had a go themselves- creating their own clay models, throwing a pot at the wheel and painting pre fired ceramics. Everyone said they had a fantastic time and loved learning a new skill. It was a valuable opportunity to get creative and explore the important work of the African Minerals and Geosciences Centre.
