Year 3

4th May 2024

We are in the final term of the academic year but still have a lot of exciting topics to learn!

Year 3 students are particularly interested in learning about forces in Science. They already started to explore how magnets work and how different surfaces affect friction. The students are looking forward to having other interesting experiments during their Science and STEM lessons. On the photos, you can see the children experimenting with magnets and testing friction.

In Mathematics, we are just coming to an end of our Fractions unit. The children were learning to add and subtract fractions with the same denominator, as well as solve problems.

Our next unit will be about money and problems involving money.

Another exciting topic this term is ‘Deserts of the World’ in Geography. The children started to explore hot and cold deserts- a lot of captivating facts are yet to be learned!

This week, we had a dance day, where some children learn traditional Haka dance from New Zealand and others learn some Afrofusion dance.

Please ask your children at home how their week has been and what they have enjoyed doing.

Please continue to read with your child at home and support them with homework.
