Year 3 students had a great start to Term 2 with so many different activities that were both educational and fun. The captivating topics across all subjects keep the children engaged and busy.
In Science, the children are learning about different types of rocks and layers of soil. To start the topic, the students explored what the layers of soil look like and made their own edible soil, which was super delicious! Ingredients, such as chocolate pudding, rice krispies, Oreos and shredded coconut were used to represent the soil layers.
In Mathematics, the children have been learning to multiply using the formal column method and to divide using various methods, including short division. All students truly enjoyed their Mathematics lessons this term were able to grasp the topic really well. I am very proud of their achievements!
“European Mountain Ranges” is our Geography topic this term. So many fascinating facts are being discovered every lesson about formation of mountains, different types of mountains and their features, as well as their location and height. The students are looking forward to finding out more about Norwegian fjords in the next couple of weeks.
On Friday this week, It was the Year 3 Class Assembly. The children showed what they have been learning in PSHE through performing two short plays. It was a truly enjoyable experience for the students, as it also revealed some amazing drama skills.
