Year 3 BAPS Hindu temple Visit

This week, Year 3 students visited a BAPS Hindu temple. The visit was to support our Religious Education curriculum and to teach the children more about global citizenship.

The students were warmly welcomed by the team of volunteers at the temple. As they learned some more facts about Hindu celebration of Diwali, the students also had a chance to observe the daily routine at the temple and take part in one of the ceremonies.

At the end, everyone was happy to receive a gift of traditional Indian sweets.

In English, we completed our unit of ‘Instructions’. The children had a cooking lesson, to link using recipe instructions in their daily life. They made mango smoothies and baked oatmeal cookies.

In Science, we are learning about the life cycle of a plant and such important processes as pollination and germination. The children planted cucumber seeds and some of them already germinated and started to grow.

The students are actively preparing for Whoops-A-Daisy Angel production and they are working hard during the rehearsals. The production will be on December 4th, starting at 9:00 am-please reserve the date!
