Year 2

1st July 2023

Congratulations on completing another incredible term! It fills my heart with pride to see how far you have come and the progress you have made. We have shared so many wonderful memories together and had a lot of fun while learning.

In our History lessons, we explored the fascinating topic of 'The Great Fire of London.' As a peak of our unit, we delved into the modern fire equipment used to fight fires. It was an engaging experience to walk around our school and discover the different types of fire equipment we have. I want to express our gratitude to Mr. Turner for imparting his knowledge and teaching us the essential procedures for putting out fires.

In English, we embarked on an exciting journey of learning how to write instructions. Our curiosity was awakened when a mysterious creature caused widespread chaos in our classroom. It left behind enormous footprints, burned some of our classwork, and even laid eggs outside our classroom. Through our investigation, we discovered that the mysterious creature was, in fact, a dragon! We channelled our new found knowledge and wrote clear instructions on how to capture a dragon.

Lastly, our camping trip to the school was an absolute blast! We sang songs, shared stories, and enjoyed a delightful bonfire session complete with toasting marshmallows. The highlight was definitely cooking our own breakfast in the morning, with the guidance of our amazing teachers. This experience helped us foster confidence, responsibility, and a love for learning
