Year 2 enjoyed their trip to the National Museum this week as part of their history topic on Tanzania Independence. They relished seeing photos and artworks of Nyerere and the following Presidents. Interesting artefacts included an animal skin shield used by warriors rebelling against colonial rule and the first radio transmitter used to broadcast Tanzanian radio. We were fascinated to see casts of the footprints of our ancient ancestors as well as a giant elephant skull. The children listened so well and asked interesting questions too. A KFC lunch was a welcome treat after a busy (and hot) day.
