Year 1

An Exciting Week of Discovery and Learning in Year 1!

This week has been an exciting and busy one for Year 1! The children enjoyed a memorable trip to the farm in Mapinga, where they saw a variety of farm animals and learned how to care for them. They even had the opportunity to try milking a cow!

In addition to their busy week of rehearsing for their upcoming production and tending to their small garden near the classroom, the students put on a wonderful class assembly, showcasing their confidence and enthusiasm. Well done, Year 1—we're so proud of these amazing individuals!

In History, the students were thrilled to dive into the fascinating world of dinosaurs and explore how we uncover evidence of these ancient creatures. In Maths, they began exploring the properties of 2D shapes, discovering new ways to describe and compare them. Meanwhile, in English, they planned their own instructional texts, which they’ll use next week to write their very first set of instructions.

What an incredible week of learning and discovery for our Year 1 students!
