Year 1’s Week of Learning and Growth!

Since joining the Year 1 classroom, our students have been working hard from day one! This week, I was particularly impressed by their dedication in Mathematics, where they explored number bonds and solved addition problems. Some even had the courage to stand in front of the class and teach their peers how to work through the answers – a true display of leadership and confidence!

In Science, the children were busy sorting animals into groups based on their characteristics and diet. They also had fun drawing a map of our classroom in Geography. Meanwhile, in Religious Education, we discussed what it means to belong to a Christian community, and I was amazed by the thoughtful insights they shared during our class discussions.

In English, our students have truly internalised the model text about The Little Red Hen. They even performed the story for Year 4, which was a huge success! I also thoroughly enjoyed reading the creative stories they wrote – their hard work is paying off!
