What a Toytastic week year 1 have had! We have been learning all about toys - the toys we play with now and the toys our parents, grandparents and even our great grandparents might have played with! We were amazed to see that there are still similarities between toys from then and now and also mang similarities between toys in Tanzania and other countries. On Wednesday, we had our Toy Day and we shared our own special toy and why it is important to us. Aside from our interesting history lessons, we have been writing our own Tinga Tinga tales in English and in Science we learnt all about an incredible scientist called Mae Jemison.
As if that wasn’t enough, we also were confident individuals in our project showcase on Thursday and had a very busy Friday morning being responsible citizens cleaning the beach!
We are fast approaching the end of term and won’t be taking our foot off the gas until then! When you see the finish line, that’s when you sprint and that is exactly what we will be doing! We are looking forward to meeting our new teacher and having a transition morning with them, we also have an exciting trip coming up and we will have our Year 1 assembly, a non uniform day and an exciting Braeburn’s got talent event all packed into the next few weeks! We are certainly making the most of every day left of Year 1 before the holidays and then the start of our journey in Year 2!
