The Band

We have started learning a new song Stand By Me Ben E King - Stand By Me (Lyrics) - YouTube which incorporates all the instrumentalists and interesting vocal harmonies. This will be performed in 1960’s style and will also feature Maureen (Year 8) playing the strings to supplement Heri (Year 8) on the Keyboard.

Our featured musician this week is Gabriella (Year 8) who plays the Bass. Gabriella has been our bassist for about a year now and is a valued member of the Band.

Gabriella is a quiet but dedicated member of the Band and she really enriches the instrumental sound. One of her strong attributes is that she has learnt the positions of the different notes on the Bass and quickly learns the riffs and patterns needed. Gabriella takes Bass Guitar lessons and makes a big difference to the overall quality of the music that we work on weekly.

The music room is open to students for practice at lunchtimes
