Spanish Club

4th May 2024

Spanish Club

The club started this week with a small crowd of very enthusiastic and curious students about the Spanish language and Hispanic culture. In the first session, we looked at basic greetings and also at where Spanish is spoken in the world. We briefly covered the historical background of the Spanish colonisation and key historical figures such as Christopher Columbus.

In support of the soon-to-come Barcelona trip, we shall make sure simple transactional Spanish is taught along with key elements of the Spanish and Catalan culture to enhance the learners’ experience while there.

We will also explore the tremendous geographical and cultural diversity of the Hispanic North, Central, and South American countries, with all their music, dance, food, traditions, and history. Additionally, we will discover the only Spanish-speaking country in Africa!

¡Gracias y hasta luego!
