SLIPWAY TRIP

On Wednesday, Mr Hopkinsons and Mrs Daly took year 8 to Slipway for the day. We surveyed tourism in the area by making sitemaps and creating questionnaires to ask the visitors we encountered. We then met with an environmental urban planning consultant who outlined the nature of her work as well as the government's plan to start creating solar farms.
We then visited the local craftsman who create soldered metal animals and sculptures. Each of us had a go at using the soldering irons to create our own masterpieces. It was such a great day! We ended the trip by calling in at the bookshop and art gallery.
