Secondary Swahili: Developing Language Skills

6th March 2026

Strengthening Swahili Skills Across Key Stages

This term, Year 7 and 8 students have continued expanding their vocabulary related to familiar school and home environments. In grammar, they have been exploring different noun classes, forming sentences in both singular and plural, and using adjectives and possessive pronouns with correct noun class agreement.

Year 9 and 10 students have focused on a range of grammar topics, reading comprehension, and paragraph writing based on previously covered themes. They have also been practising past IGCSE Listening, Reading, and Writing examination papers to strengthen their skills and prepare for formal assessments.

Through interactive lessons, pupils have engaged with these activities in ways that encourage confidence and accuracy in speaking, reading, and writing Swahili.
