Year 7; Students are currently working on their printmaking projects. They have been learning about mark making techniques and visual elements of art and design like lines, texture, shape, positive and negative spaces. They have also learnt about the steps in printmaking like making drawings from a primary/secondary source, then transferring a section of it onto a lino block and carving out negative areas.
Year 8; Students have been exploring different ideas and media in making their own pop art style artworks. They have also been looking at Andy Warhol ‘Soup Cans’. They also made a pop art portrait drawing of their favourite celebrity.
Year 9; Learners have been exploring religious art and the art nouveau movement. Art Nouveau artists, inspired by plant forms and nature, took organic subjects and flattened and abstracted them into sophisticated, sinuous and flowing motifs.
Year 10; Students have started working on their individual IGCSE Art & Design Coursework projects. They are exploring a number of themes like close ups, depression, still life, plants and flowers, and portraiture. They are currently working on their first A2 page which is primarily a mood board.
Year 11 Art; Students are working on their individual IGCSE Art & Design Coursework Assignment projects at different levels. They are exploring a number of themes like identity, depression, out of place and ocean life. The artworks on the image show oil paints exploration by some of the students.
