Year 1 Art: This half term’s lessons revolve around learning vocabulary for different types of lines. Learners made straight, curvy, wavy, diagonal, broken and any other lines they could imagine! They have also explored how a number of famous artists use lines, shapes and colour to make exciting artworks. The artworks in the images draw inspiration from Paul Klee’s illustrations.
Year 2 Art: Learners used a range of art media such as watercolours, pencils and colour pencils to create their very own picture inspired by Vincent Van Gogh’s ‘Starry Night’.
Year 3 Art: Learners explored how lines can be explored to make water surface patterns, designs while experimenting with paint, colour pencils and pastels. The artworks in the images draw inspiration from a famous water surface artist called Sue Cotts.
Year 4 Art: Learners have been learning about ‘Animals in Art’ with focus on animals of East Africa. They have been exploring the Tingatinga art style while using a number of dry media. The next theme will be animal print patterns.
Year 5 Art: Learners are currently exploring Celtic typography. Typography involves lettering design. They used dry media while drawing or designing letters/names in celtic’s Kr Keltic font. They also used HassianUncal fonts in their book page illustration activity.
Year 6 Art: Learners made studies of a market place scene. They made line drawings and paintings of a market scene in the style of Ali Funnel in dry media. They have also made market stall design drawings.
