Pi Day

16th March 2024

The format for the day remained the same as in previous years. Students rotated around activities that included an interactive computer board game calling upon BODMAS skills, guessing the Pi dingbats, beating the computer at high speed +ve & -ve calculations and finally designing a poster to celebrate the event. Then there was the memory challenge.

Incredibly, Sharon remembered Pi to 78 decimal places. Hayaam was not too far behind. Her brother Naggib was the highest scorer against the computer, Vinn not too far behind him and Gerald was king of the posters! Twiga were overall winners having won 3 of the 4 categories and Tembo second having won one.

The activities concluded with the traditional throwing of 'custard' Pi's at the new teachers whilst held in the medieval stocks. Enjoy the photos.
