Physics

29th April 2024

Year 11 have finally completed their IGCSE course and are waiting to sit their final exams. These consist of three papers: a multiple-choice worth 30%, a short-answer paper worth 50%, and a practical paper worth 20%. We have spent the last few weeks doing a lot of practice, and I am confident that they will do very well.

Year 10 have completed the unit of work on Waves and are now starting the Electricity and Magnetism unit. This is a big unit and will take most of the term. We started with a look at magnets and magnetic fields and then moved on to static electricity and electric fields. We’ll also start practising the practical paper questions a lot more, ready for the year 10 exams at the end of May.

The Year 9 students who have opted for Physics will start their learning journey this week. They did very well in the Physics exam that they sat, and I was very impressed by how much they knew. Their first unit will be on Measurement, followed by Forces and Motion.

I have attached a breakdown of the units if you are interested.
