What a fantastic continuation of our sporting year it has been. As we move through Term 2, the energy across the fields, courts, and pool at Braeburn remains electric. We are incredibly proud of the dedication our students are showing, not only in developing their physical skills, but also in the positive attitude they bring to every session.
Our message remains clear: PE is for everyone. Whether taking part in a competitive match or learning a new skill during lessons, our aim is to ensure every child finds joy in movement, develops a healthy body and mind, and builds a lifelong love for being active.
This term, students have fully embraced Touch Rugby and Handball. It has been a pleasure to see their enthusiasm as they develop key skills, from quick and accurate passing in handball to strategic positioning in touch rugby.
Beyond the technical aspects, there has been a strong focus on teamwork, resilience, and fair play. Whether attacking or defending, students are encouraged to give their best effort and support one another at all times.
It has been wonderful to see the progress our swimmers have made since Term 1. Confidence in the water continues to grow week by week, and we are excited to build on this momentum as swimming remains a key focus throughout Term 2 and into Term 3.
Our youngest athletes recently had the opportunity to shine, and they certainly rose to the occasion.
U7 Football vs. DIS (Thursday, 18th March)
In a thrilling match, Braeburn secured a 4–2 victory. While the result was impressive, what stood out most was the teamwork, determination, and excellent sportsmanship displayed by both teams. It was a fantastic glimpse into the bright future of our young athletes.
After-school clubs continue to thrive, with basketball emerging as a standout activity this term. Students have made excellent progress in their dribbling, shooting, and tactical awareness. It has been inspiring to see so many students staying after school to develop their skills and enjoy sport with their peers.
There is plenty to look forward to as we approach the end of the term and prepare for Term 3:
A huge well done to all our students for their enthusiasm, positivity, and pride. Your energy and smiles on the pitch remind us why PE is truly the heartbeat of our school week.
Keep moving. Keep trying. Keep smiling.
