I'm excited to share the wonderful progress our students have made in music class this term at Braeburn international school Dar es salaam. We have explored various elements of music, including choral, dance, instrumental units, and performance etiquette. Here’s a summary of what each year group has accomplished:
Year One: Our youngest students accurately represented tempo changes in a variety of songs through hand movements. They demonstrated a strong sense of dynamics by using larger gestures for louder sections and smaller ones for softer passages.
Year Two: The students delved into intricate drum rhythms, dance choreography, and West African singing games. Their enthusiasm and engagement have been truly inspiring.
Year Three: These students enjoyed exploring performing techniques and appropriate actions to songs they enjoy and learned in class. Their creativity and energy shone through in every session.
Year Four: Focused on dance choreography, space, movement, and synchronization, these students presented "Mastani" at the International Day—a vigorous Indian dance performed with great precision and entertainment.
Year Five: Our fifth graders explored world music, performing pieces from Jamaican traditions. They also engaged in ensemble performances using percussion instruments, showcasing their growing musical skills.
Year Six: These students embarked on music composition, learning about lyric development, song structure, and have been diligently working on creating their own original compositions for the farewell performance.
I am immensely proud of the hard work and dedication each student has shown during their performance rehearsals in preparation for the International Day performance. Thank you for your continued support.
