Music

3rd June 2023

The focus in Primary Music has been on expressive group singing and this has resulted in more blended singing as evidenced in UKS play which was staged last month.

Students have also been learning songs such as A Ram Sam Sam, Toast and Eggs and ABC ya later. The learning of the songs is in combination with learning the notation, key signatures, chord progression and other music literacy components. Students also enhance their sense of international mindedness as they get to learn about different aspects of the countries that the songs come from. For example, the song A Ram Sam Sam generated discussions about Geography, Sports and Cultural issues.

The music room is open to students for practice at lunchtimes. In this picture, Suri-Star, who is a regular lunchtime visitor to the music room, is seen working on her violin skills.
