Year 7; Small group ensembles and whole class singing. In 7B students have learnt how to accompany group singing using various chords with Andrew, Stephanie and Aisia acting as lead keyboardists for their group in their rendition of the song Count on me by Bruno Mars.
There is also a cohort of students preparing for the globally recognised ABRSM Theory of music exams (https://gb.abrsm.org) which will enhance understanding and application of music principles. The students will take the online exams at the end of the term.
The Year 8 class has also worked on whole class singing with Gerald taking the solo role in the song Memories by Maroon 5.
Year 9 students have delved into Genres of Music studies in a wider appreciation of different music experiences. They also were able to interview their parents about the musical tastes of the older generation and thus engage with some comparative studies and interviewing skills. Kwame did a particularly engaging interview with his mum on this task.
Year 11 Music is focusing on IGCSE composition, performance and advanced critical listening skills.
