Model United Nations

29th September 2024

MUN

$45 to secure their child’s place on the trip. Model United Nations has nearly doubled in club membership, thanks to the positive atmosphere and reputation our members have developed over the last couple of years.

We have exciting news: we now have two new student leaders. Highness, our Student Director, is now responsible for the direction and growth of the club, while Iris, our Deputy Director, assists Highness and ensures the smooth running of the club.

Our first mock debate will take place on Monday in the school hall, chaired by our highly experienced Sixth Form students, Naveen and Eda, along with their helpers, who have gained valuable experience from their previous attendance at the Nairobi headquarters. The debate will focus on the struggle for freedom and equality for women in Afghanistan.

We will also be attending debates at IST on the 16th, 23rd, and 24th of November, which will provide a great opportunity for our students to network with peers from other schools in Dar.

Finally, I would like to remind the parents of club members that the Nairobi trip is scheduled for January and early February, and payment must be made promptly.
