Kiswahili

10th November 2023

Welcome to a captivating journey into the world of Kiswahili at BDIS. Term 1 has been nothing short of enchanting as our young learners embarked on a remarkable voyage of language and culture. Let's explore the highlights of their Kiswahili language learning adventure this term.

In Year 1, our students laid the foundation for Kiswahili language learning by mastering self-introductions, greetings, phrases expressing gratitude such as pole, asante, samahani, numbers up to ten and colors. Year 2 was progressing to numbers up to 30, days of the week, months of the year, naming fruits and classroom items. Year 3 delved into family and home-related vocabulary, while Year 4 explored emotions, classroom and home related vocabulary. Year 5 advanced into discussing daily activities and tenses and Year 6 reached mastery in telling time and advanced language skills. We commend our students' incredible progress.

As we celebrate these achievements, we urge parents and guardians to actively participate in their child's language learning journey. By practicing speaking, listening, writing, and reading Kiswahili materials at home, you can reinforce the classroom learning experience and enrich your child's language skills. This collaborative effort not only enhances their language proficiency but also fosters a deeper connection with the vibrant Kiswahili culture.

Thank you for your continued support.

Kwaheri!
