ICT Newsletter – Term 3 Update
Greetings to all students, parents, and staff! We hope this newsletter finds you well and filled with excitement for the latest developments in our ICT curriculum. Term 3 has been a productive and engaging period for our students across various year groups. Let's delve into the highlights:
Year 7 – Exploring Control Systems with Flowol
In Year 7, our students have immersed themselves in the captivating world of control systems using Flowol. They have gained a solid understanding of how control systems work and have enjoyed designing and simulating various control scenarios. Through hands-on activities and problem-solving tasks, our Year 7 students have honed their logical thinking and programming skills. They have successfully applied their knowledge to create automated systems and witnessed the outcomes firsthand. We are proud of their progress and enthusiasm in this area!
Year 8 – Mastering Video Production
Year 8 students have delved into the captivating realm of video production this term. They have acquired essential skills in storyboarding, filming techniques, editing, and post-production. Through exciting projects, our students have unleashed their creativity and produced impressive video presentations. They have learned how to effectively convey messages through visual storytelling, ensuring their videos are engaging and informative. The Year 8 cohort has showcased tremendous growth and talent in the field of video production.
Year 9 – Embarking on the IGCSE ICT Journey
Our Year 9 students have taken their first steps in their IGCSE ICT course. This term, they have started exploring the fundamentals of the curriculum, delving into topics such as data representation, computer hardware, software, and networking. They have been introduced to industry-standard tools and techniques, preparing them for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. We are excited to witness their progress as they continue their journey in IGCSE ICT.
Year 10 – Unleashing the Power of Data Manipulation
Year 10 students have immersed themselves in the world of data manipulation within the IGCSE ICT curriculum. They have acquired essential skills in database applications, learning how to organize, analyze, and present data effectively. Through practical exercises and real-world scenarios, our Year 10 cohort has demonstrated their ability to manipulate and interpret data, making informed decisions based on their findings.
