HOPE AND WONDER TRIP TO KIGAMBONI

6th May 2023

On Tuesday 2nd May 2023 the Early – Act club (along with Ms Kemp & Mr Makinga) had a visit to the Hope and Wonder charity. When we got there all the kids were happy to see us and had smiles on their faces, one of them even learned how to play the xylophone! We were also accompanied on a tour by a sweet lady and she took us to where the children sleep, where they shower and also where they could play. The reason we went there was because these kids are not like us, they weren't able to move and communicate the way we usually do and so we reached out to them and when they replied we planned a bake sale (that you might remember) and we raised almost 200,000! We would also like to give a big thanks to all those who donated your change from the bake sale to the charity as we were able to buy 1 kid a walking frame so that he could be able to slowly learn how to walk and we were also able to buy 20 reusable diapers for the kids to use instead of the caretakers having to buy new ones every now and then.

They gave us a big thanks for all the things we brought and we would like to thank you guys because without your help this wouldn’t have happened.

Please note that we are doing another fundraiser for year 3’s trip to Saadani because while in Sadaani they are going to visit a school as part of their community service - there are 245 students and they will play games with them and take some juice and lollipops. Please donate any small azam juices or lollipops and don’t forget your money on Monday when you wear your home clothes. (Red, White and Blue)

All of this stuff (lollipops or juice or donations) should go to Ms Kemp.

Thank you,

yours sincerely
