Science

23rd September 2023

In Science, Year 8 has recently commenced their exploration of the new topic, "Combustion." During these initial lessons, students have begun to draw connections between the process of burning fossil fuels and the significance of utilising alternative energy resources.

Remarkably, in just the second lesson of this topic, three students independently designed a challenging game. This innovative game was integrated into the lesson to assess skills, general knowledge, and creativity within a fast-paced environment. Pupils were astounded by the imaginative concepts presented by their peers. These concepts encompassed the names of both real and fictional scientists, a rapid poster competition, and a demonstration of general knowledge related to the topic—all completed in less than 15 minutes. It's truly impressive to witness the talent, independence, and confidence of our Braeburn Dar students as they engage in their learning journey.
