Geography

25th February 2023

Students have really enjoyed learning Geography this term. Years 8 and 10 have been learning about coasts and we went to Ununio and Kunduchi beaches. We studied sand bars, spits and lagoons in the bay.

The year 10’s did fieldwork on levels of pollution and tested the hypothesis that there would be more litter closest to the village.

The year 8 were exploring different activities at the beach and identified the coastal landforms created by waves and different ways used to protect places from being flooded and eroded by the sea.

Later we trekked round the headland and looked at cliff erosion and finally we swam and played football while we had lunch.

Year 11 Geographers accompanied the trip and guided the year 10s in their fieldwork.

Year 7 Geographers have been so cool this term as they have been studying glaciers.

Year 9s have been studying levels of development across the world.
