Trip to Belgium and France was absolutely amazing. Yes, we did have to wake up very early every morning, but it was definitely worth it! We landed in Paris at 9.30 pm , and took an amazing LED light decorated bus to Belgium. It was fOur reezing when we arrived at 1 am! The next 2 days were spent visiting beautiful and heartfelt cemeteries filled with fallen soldiers buried shoulder to shoulder despite sometimes fighting on opposite sides of the war. It really was very emotional! We visited a very beautiful Canadian memorial too. There were so many artifacts such as romantic and emotional letters leading us to the olden days, in the museum we visited on the site. We saw the astounding and gigantic fleur d’elise monument too.
There were children from another school staying with us at Ypres lodge, so we all played football together on the last night, and filmed a bunch of tik tok too.
After exploring Belgium, we headed to Paris to experience the rich French culture. One of the highlight was our visit to the Palace of Versailles, a majestic palace with huge gardens filled with beautifully cut trees, bushes, and statues. It felt like stepping into a magical place. We were also amazed by the Sacré-Cœur Basilica, a Roman Catholic church where we could hear people praying and a choir singing. It was a truly moving experience.
Another unforgettable moment was the relaxing cruise sailing along the River Seine. We admired the gorgeous bridges adorned by golden sculptures and caught a distant glimpse of the famous Eiffel Tower. Of course, we couldn't resist taking lots of selfies right beneath the Eiffel Tower to capture the memories. Our trip to Paris was a fantastic opportunity to learn about art, history, culture, and practice our French language skills. We had an incredible time exploring Paris, city of light and love.
This was definitely a trip that will be embedded in our minds for the rest of our lives. We feel very grateful to be able to have had this opportunity, and we wouldn’t have this trip any other way
