This week, the English department has worked together with the drama department in preparation for next week’s spoken word inter-house competition. The year 7s will be presenting different excerpts from Anne Holm’s I am David, while the year 8s will be working on Michael Morpurgo’s Private Peaceful. The year 9s who have currently started working on the IGCSE syllabus are keen to present a monologue from Kambili – a major character in Purple Hibiscus. The year 10s recently finished studying Othello by William Shakespeare and will be using this chance to memorise some soliloquies from the antagonist in the play, Iago.
