Early Years

7th October 2023

Week 6 is upon us and the children in Early Years are starting to show some wonderful progress. They are all settled into their environment now and have made friends and relationships with the adults in the setting. They arrive happily at school with a big smile on their face, and greet us with a huge “Good morning!” ready to start the day.

Creche have been busy learning about colours; they have started to use colour vocabulary in their day to day play and have been spotting and sorting items into colour groups. The room is full of learners enjoying success and the children are showing some wonderful independent skills, well done Creche!

FS1 have been busy working on their speaking and listening skills and have enjoyed activities using instruments, listening games and role play. There is a big focus on independent skills in FS1 and we are encouraging them to take more responsibility for their belongings, feeding themselves and going to the toilet. Keep up the hard work FS1!

FS2 are ploughing ahead with their phonics skills and I am hugely impressed with the letter formation (writing skills) that are taking place around the classroom. Children are building on their blending skills and I look forward to sending some reading books home soon to share with parents. Amazing FS2!

We have lots of themed weeks ahead with new opportunities to shine!

Well done Early Years!
