Early Years

31st August 2024

This week in Early Years, the children have been excited to see their friends after the long holiday. We also welcomed two new friends to our school; Sharon in FS1 and Ethan in FS2. They have both settled in very happily thanks to their new friends.

The children have been busy working on identifying their name on their pegs to hang up their bags/jackets. This has been part of our focus on helping them become more independent and responsible. The children have enjoyed looking after their belongings and are proud to be so independent.

We have also been exploring mark making, tracing and pre-writing activities, including writing our own names. The children enjoyed art activities this week, using a range of tools to help with their hand eye coordination. They have also been concentrating on their learning in both English and Mathematics. These are subjects that will continue to be key focus areas for our children throughout the year.

As parents, we ask that you help support your child by asking them about what they have been doing at school and seeking opportunities to reinforce their learning in activities at home. This support is always hugely beneficial. A particularly good activity to always focus on is reading with your child, as this helps build their confidence in their reading skills as well as being a truly enjoyable activity too.
