DELF Club: Building Confidence in French Communication

15th June 2026

We are delighted to share an update from the DELF Club, where students continue to develop their French language skills through engaging, interactive and culturally enriching activities. The club provides a valuable opportunity for learners to build confidence in communicating in French while preparing for internationally recognised language qualifications.

What Happens in DELF Club?

Our weekly sessions focus on developing practical communication skills and preparing students for success in the DELF examinations. Through a variety of engaging activities, students strengthen their abilities across all four language skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing.

Activities include:

  • Role-play scenarios that simulate real-life situations such as ordering food, asking for directions and taking part in everyday conversations.
  • Listening and comprehension exercises using authentic French audio and multimedia resources, helping students become familiar with a variety of accents and contexts.
  • Writing tasks including letters, articles and short essays linked to topics relevant to young people.
  • Collaborative games and challenges designed to reinforce vocabulary, grammar and speaking confidence in a fun and supportive environment.

What is DELF?

The DELF (Diplôme d’Études en Langue Française) is an official qualification awarded by the French Ministry of Education. Designed for learners of French as a foreign language, it assesses proficiency in listening, speaking, reading and writing at different levels.

Recognised internationally and valid for life, the DELF qualification is a valuable achievement that can support future academic, travel and professional opportunities.

Looking Ahead to December 2026

We are pleased to announce that DELF Club students will be working towards the official DELF examinations in December 2026. In the coming months, sessions will increasingly focus on examination preparation through practice papers, mock oral assessments and exam strategies designed to help students approach their assessments with confidence.

Supporting Learning at Home

Families can play an important role in supporting language development by encouraging students to:

  • Listen to French music, podcasts or French-language programmes.
  • Share new vocabulary and expressions learned during club sessions.
  • Spend a few minutes each day reviewing notes and DELF practice materials.

We are incredibly proud of the commitment, enthusiasm and progress shown by our DELF Club members and look forward to supporting them as they continue their French language journey.
