Creche

14th February 2023

The Creche children have been learning some practical home skills over the past few weeks. First, the role play corner was transformed into a delightful bakery which specialised in making “chapatis” and "cakes". The little bakers later made real vanilla cupcakes and chapatis which they all enjoyed eating. To prepare for these cooking activities, they learnt how to make playdough by following a simple recipe guided by the teacher. Counting and measuring concepts were introduced to the children in a meaningful and practical way.

Gardening was another theme they explored as they tried to grow their "beanstalk". The inspiration came from the storybook, ‘Jasper’s Beanstalk' where the main character plants bean seeds and eagerly waits for them to grow. The importance of patience and diligence in caring for plants was emphasised during our plantinging sessions. Who knows, with plenty of care and attention, they might just grow a real life beanstalk with some delicious beans too!
