What an unforgettable day of unity, compassion, and purpose! Our first-ever Braeburn Charity Fun Run involved 210 registered runners and brought together runners that included students, parents, staff, and community members—who ran with joy and determination on behalf of people with albinism from Under the Same Sun (UTSS).
Through everyone’s incredible generosity, we collected a total of Tsh 16,544,300. After Tsh 8,928,100 in expenses, we proudly raised Tsh 7,616,200 — including Tsh 200,000 raised by our wonderful Year 13 students through their Spirit Week fundraiser. These funds will go toward purchasing approximately 100 pairs of UV-protected sunglasses and 30 monocular devices to support our friends at UTSS—tangible reminders of love and inclusion in action.
As Helen Keller once said, “Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.” This event truly embodied the power of working together for a shared cause, reminding us that service not only transforms lives—it transforms hearts.
We extend our deepest gratitude to our generous sponsors for their monetary support, fruit, refreshment and food donations; the Braeburn Charity Fun Run team for their leadership; and the many volunteers from Braeburn Dar, including our admin, teaching, and auxiliary staff, along with partners from Rotary Bahari Club and Under the Same Sun, who worked tirelessly to make this day a success.
Together, we ran for hope. Together, we made a difference.
