This term in the Art & Design Club, pupils have been fully immersed in an ongoing illustration project focused on strengthening drawing techniques and developing creative concepts.
The journey began with observational drawing, where students learned to carefully study shapes and forms with precision. Using light pencil work, they mapped out compositions before gradually refining details, building confidence in structure and proportion.
As the term progressed, pupils explored a diverse range of illustrative styles, including:
Through the thoughtful use of line, pattern and subtle shading, students are adding depth and dimension to their work. A key focus of the project has been refinement, helping pupils understand that strong illustrations often emerge through revisiting and improving initial sketches.
Art Club sessions continue to offer a calm and supportive environment where students feel confident to experiment and take creative risks. It has been wonderful to see them thinking critically about composition and exploring how a single image can tell a story.
We look forward to seeing their final pieces evolve as they continue to demonstrate enthusiasm and steady technical progress.
