Art

3rd April 2023

Year 7 have been working hard on building their mini set which will be used in their animation projects. They are creating small rooms and environments using recycling and craft materials where animated figures will eventually move around to act out a story.

Year 8 are working on an urban art project where they investigate artists who use doodling and graffiti style lettering in their work.

Year 9 are busy carving away their lino. They are using carving tools to outline birds in their environments. Our artist inspiration is Rachel Newling. Soon we will be inking these up and making layered prints!

This week year 9 had a school trip to Sifa Threads, where the students made batik and tie dye. We enjoyed the coffee shop and seeing the textiles students at work!

Year 10 are developing their skills in oil painting and acrylic painting on canvas. Soon we will move on to making prints based on botanical forms. We are working towards deciding on our coursework theme for next year.

Year 11 are almost ready to submit their final IGCSE projects to the UK. We are working towards our exam theme and have our 8 hour final exam after easter!
