Albinism Awareness

15th June 2024

Our annual Albinism Awareness Week is an important time to raise awareness about the genetic condition that affects over 40,000 people in Tanzania. As people with albinism are often shunned and attacked by society, it is vitally important to spread truth and information and raise a generation who will help protect people with albinism. The children in Early Years and Primary were so excited to take part in sponsored football and swimming events as well as welcoming visitors from Under the Same Sun, our partner charity. It was wonderful to behold the enriching conversations and interactions the children had with people with albinism when they came to visit our classes. The activities and discussions will certainly help us all to grow as effective, global citizens who can make a change for the better.
